Mission
At Clark ES, we foster a culture of safety, care, inclusion and high expectations to promote the academic success and social emotional well being of each student. To realize this goal, we leverage students’ funds of knowledge and implement culturally responsive practices to provide relevant and meaningful learning opportunities to increase student engagement and achievement. We believe students have the ability to succeed and model a growth mindset. We welcome productive struggle and support students to develop their critical thinking skills and empower them to take ownership of their learning and positively contribute to their community. We partner with families to engage them in their child’s learning and welcome feedback to learn and grow as a community.
Vision
Clark ES is a vibrant learning community that values culture, language, belonging, high expectations, meaningful learning and joy. The Chinese DLI program provides students with a unique opportunity to develop their linguistic and cultural identities to become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural citizens. Students who participate in the Chinese DLI program learn in a language-rich environment, develop high levels of academic achievement, cultural competence in both Chinese and English.
